Exterior window cleaning is the outside of every window on your home: the glass, the frames and the sills, every time. We do most of it with a water-fed pole, standing on the ground. It is our main service, booked once or on a plan, and the inside of the windows, fly screens and tracks can all be added to it.
Glass, frames and sills
Clean glass in a dirty frame looks good for about a week. Then the first real rain runs down through the grime in the frame and drops it straight back across the pane. If you have ever had your windows done and wondered why they went streaky so fast, that is a common reason. So the frames and sills are wiped on every visit.
Fly screens are moved aside for the clean, or taken out when they are being washed. They go back where they came from when we are done. Washing the screens is a paid add-on: each one goes through a screen washing machine. Ask for it when you call and we will price it with the rest.
Pure water, and why the glass dries clear
Tap water leaves spots. The minerals in it stay behind on the glass as it dries, which is why hosing windows down never really works.
So on a plan clean we finish with filtered water, our CLEARWATER RainBlock Tech, and we test the water every day to check the filter is still taking everything out. Clean water dries off glass leaving nothing behind, so the pane comes up clear on its own, with no towelling, no streaks and no soap film to grab the next bit of dust.
Done from the ground
Most windows up to three storeys are done from the ground with a water-fed pole. Nothing rests on your gutters, and nothing leans against your render or your leadlight. For most double storey homes around Canterbury, Camberwell and Balwyn, the whole house gets done this way.
Glass doors that would let water inside, and windows on decks where water can’t drain, are done by hand with a squeegee instead. We check for these with you before we start.
Windows too close to power lines are left for safety, and we tell you. Some hard-to-reach windows need a ladder or roof access. We quote those separately.
While we are there
Gates get shut behind us. The hose is run in a straight, clear line so it never drags through your garden beds.
If you would rather we did not come through a particular gate, or there is a spot the dog needs to stay clear of, just tell us and we will work around it.
Before we go
Once every window has dried, we walk the house and check each one for drips, spots and streaks. Then we walk around with you and look at the result together. The pole stays set up until you are happy, so any touch-up is done on the spot.
100% satisfaction guarantee: if you’re not happy, we’ll fix it before we leave. You pay on the day, by card or cash, when the job is finished.
