The mistake that costs thousands
New toughened glass does not always arrive clean. Fabrication debris from manufacturing can be fused to the surface. Run a blade over it and the panel scratches. A replacement pane on a large opening runs into the thousands, with a lead time your programme does not have.
So we work the glass, not attack it:
- — Pre-clean before any blade touches it
- — Test any panel we are unsure of
- — Never use abrasives on tinted, coated or laminated glass
If a panel is at risk, we stop and tell you. That conversation takes two minutes. A replacement pane takes six weeks.
We are last in, so we plan for it
Windows sit at the end of the programme. Every delay upstream lands on us, and the handover date does not move for it.
Give us your finish date and we will work to it. If it is ever at risk, you hear from us early enough to do something about it, not on the morning of.

Before we leave, we walk the property again. Every pane, from low down and from the side, exactly how your client will look at it. Anything we find, we fix on the spot.

What we do not do
We do not work from scaffolding, EWPs or rope access. Internal glazing above safe reach from ground level sits outside our scope. Tell us early if your site needs it and we will say honestly whether we are the right fit.

We do not price builders cleans over the phone. Too much variation, and a number given blind helps nobody.
Send your plans or a few photos, or let us walk the site. You will get a fixed price and a realistic timeframe. No provisional sums, no end-of-job variations unless scope genuinely changes, and we tell you when it does.
Work with us regularly? Rates stay consistent across sites, so you can carry a reliable allowance into your next estimate.
Payment: Trade accounts, invoiced on completion, standard terms. Certificate of currency provided before we start.
Capacity: A lean core team plus trusted contractors on call for larger or time-critical jobs. We scale up without dropping the standard.
